Is Avanza STEM really free?

Yes, completely. Our project guides, blog content, and workshop resources are available online at no cost, and curriculum lessons are launching soon. Our in-person workshops are also free to attend because we believe cost should never be a barrier to STEM education.

What ages are your programs designed for?

Our programs are designed for students in 2nd grade and up (roughly ages 7-14). Some workshops are structured for specific grade ranges, which we always list in the event details.

Do I need any prior STEM knowledge?

Not at all. Everything we create is beginner-friendly and designed to be a student's first introduction to the topic. We start from the very basics.

We host workshops at local public libraries in New Jersey. Past programs have been held at Clifton Public Library, Allwood Branch Library, Library of the Chathams, and Roseland Free Public Library. We're always expanding to new locations, so subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated.

No. We provide all materials. Just show up ready to learn and have fun. We do recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a little messy during hands-on building activities.
